Aquatic facilities
Bracken Ridge State School is fortunate enough to have excellent facilities to cater for most aquatic activities. Bracken Ridge State School has a six lane, 25m swimming pool. Years 1-6 classes benefit from weekly Swimming Lessons in Terms 1 and 4 (summer) and Prep have classes in Term 4.
Pool facilities include a second 'Learn to Swim' pool area adjoining the main
pool. This pool has been designed to cater for this purpose with shallow depth, ramp entry, and large benches on either end. Another addition to the pool complex is the protective shade cloth structures covering a significant area of the pool's surface.
The pool is also in use before and after school by Bracken Ridge Amateur Swimming Club. The Bracken Ridge 'Wizards', as they are known, cater for 'Learn to Swim' classes, through to advanced squad training. For further information on Club details please contact the club on (07) 3869 0005.
Playground facilities
The playground areas at Bracken Ridge are separated into areas for the Prep, Junior, Middle and Upper Schools. Each area has an Adventure Playground and a green space for running. All Adventure Playground equipment satisfies Workplace, Health and Safety requirements. As well as these playgrounds, Bracken Ridge makes use of its asphalted netball/basketball courts, cricket nets, and oval for playtime and for formal sport team training use.
Multipurpose sports hall
We have a large multipurpose which includes a sports floor with full size basketball court, removable stage, fully equipped kitchen, sound system, data projector and screen. This hall can be used for many activities from sports, assemblies and events.
