Student LeadersAt Bracken Ridge State School, we take great pride in watching our students develop into confident and capable leaders. At the end of Year 5, potential candidates for student leadership positions are nominated. Students who are nominated for school captain positions, prepare speeches to present to the Year 4 to 6 students, teachers, administration, and their parents. In the address, students indicate what they feel will make them a great School Captain for our school. The student body in Years 4-6, in conjunction with the Teaching Staff then make the difficult decision and vote for their preferred candidates for the following year. The induction ceremony to officially present badges and the school captains to the wider school community is held early in the following year.
